Let's Get Started!
"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." - Mark 16:15
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." - Matthew 28:19-20

It was during the outbreak of the Covid-19 Pandemic in March of 2020.. Panic and fear swept the land. Businesses and public places were forced to close. Churches were told they could not hold religious services...

As people were (literally) trapped inside their homes, not allowed to go anywhere without being quarantined, and forbidden to meet for public worship - a dark cloud descended over our land. Without any ability to go anywhere, or do anything, many people turned to the internet for something to occupy their time (and there is "much" on the internet that we have no business being involved with). For many, faith and hope began to weaken; and for many others, the lack of being able to be fed "spiritually" led to their falling away.
"An idle mind is the Devil's playground"
- American Proverb
"And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd"
- Ezekiel 34:5
Although some churches turned to on-line platforms to broadcast their services, many smaller churches lacked these capabilities and were unable to do so. Some churches turned to "drive-in" services; where the pastor would preach from outside, and the people would remain in their cars - but even those were met with opposition from government officials, and some preachers were even arrested. For many churches, Governor's "Executive Orders" (in essence) shut them down completely - leaving the people with no way to be able to hear the preaching of the Word of God, or come together to be able to worship.
It was at this time that the LORD laid on the heart of Scott Spencer the need for an internet (or web-based) church. A church that couldn't be shut down by governmental restrictions on public worship. A church where "social distancing" policies had no place. A church where people could still listen to the preaching of the Word of God - despite all the Coronavirus restrictions that were in effect. A church that people could "come to", and participate in, right out of their own homes - where no Covid-19 rules would apply. A church where even those people unfortunate enough to have been diagnosed with Coronavirus (or were under "watch" if they were in fear of being exposed) could still be able to worship - despite being quarantined or unable to leave their house.
This church became a reality when Scott was officially ordained into the Christian Ministry by Saint Luke Evangelical Christian Ministries on May 8, 2020. An independent church charter was granted to Pastor Scott Spencer by that same organization, and the "Sword & Trowel Revival Fellowship" was thus born. Our mission is to provide that vitally essential opportunity for Christian men and women to be able to come and worship; to bring revival to those people whose hearts and souls have become "weary" with the difficulties and trials of life; and to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ into every home, and to every person willing to listen, utilizing one of the most powerful communication tools that has ever been know to exist - the "world wide web".
We hope that you will be able to join us for our spiritual worship time by tuning into one of our online worship services - which you can find by clicking on the "Ministries" tab up above. We also hope that you will have the time to explore our web site, and see what other ministries and programs our church has to offer. Perhaps, you may even decide to "join us", and consider making the Sword & Trowel Revival Fellowship your "spiritual (or church) home"!
